"This includes military, police, courts, prisons, etc. There is no logical argument you can make that will show that concessions must be made for society. "
I'm sorry, expecting me to pay to imprison someone who infringed on your rights is immoral, you pay for his upkeep. Why should I have to pay police to protect you? I can protect myself, I shouldn't have to pay for your protection. You are entitled life, sure, so you can protect yourself, that is your right. Expecting me to protect you is immoral. House on fire? Step outside, watch it burn, you can pay the fire department to put it out. It doesn't really work does it, see, you have already, in your little utopian society, put conditions on the services that seem to mean something to you as the individual.

Let's say i take it one step further and say "I believe it is beneficial for society for families to adopt kids, therefore the government should force everyone to adopt kids.
That is is crazy. Your comparing everyone getting a quality education to the gov't forcing people to adopt kids? Come on now, we're not talking communism here.

I never said I was an anarchist. The basic structure of government is sufficient for society to flourish. I guess to have government at all you have to concede something, in that you are right. The only difference between me and you is that you are willing to give up more liberty than I am.

I'm not giving up any such thing. I think you're blowing this out of proportion. If you think that there is enough to go around, you're wrong..........not with our system and values there's not. What I mean is, there actually is enough to go around but a small percentage is allow to hoard most of it.
The society you speak of is, ironicly enough, is a lot like communism, just the opposite. On paper, both look great. However, human nature and tendencies make both not very practical and failures in the long run.

I'm not under the illusion that this structure of government will ever exist in the US, nor am I under the impression that my views are mainstream, nor do I believe that there is such a thing as a utopian society. Right now our government is being run my special interest groups who have politicians in their back pockets. Our government is a corrupt as it's ever been, and I'm simply tired of standing by while I watch my liberties whittle away in the name of "the good of society" for the democrats or "for national security" for the republicans. Education is in shambles, health care is spiraling out of control, gas prices keep rising, food prices are rising, energy prices are rising, social security is a mess, yet I'm suppose to trust the government, which created all these problems in this country, to solve these problems. There is a word for using the same solutions over and over to solve the same problems when nothing has been accomplished: insanity.
Government got us in these messes and can't get us out. The solution to these problems lies in the free market.
