I am Not sure why people classify Obama as a Black man. He is as much black as he is white. His dad is black, yet his mom is white. I think they are doing a dissevice to his mom by calling him Black.

to finish, shouldnt matter what color he is
if he gets elected it should be based on his beliefs and actions, not skin color
unfortunately, it wont play out that way

Have there been any previous presidents, out of the 41 guys who have held the office, who ever claimed to be even one-half of anything other than white?

Way too many voters in this country, unfortunately, will never look past the skin color of Obama, or the gender of Hillary, so their views, beliefs and actions will fall on many, many deaf ears, preventing them from ever winning

I'd love to tell you that Sharpton's opinion on the matter is irrelevant. Sadly, that is not the case.
In the black community in New York, Sharpton's the Man. I can only imagine it (his opinion) carries weight with the black community outside of NYC Metro, as well.

sharpton said that about Obama because Obama has never reached out for or been coddled by Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, and Sharpton resents that
i don't think McCain can beat either Hilary or Obama
i have no idea who will win the Democratic nomination, this is as intriguing a race as I have ever witnessed
i WONT vote for McCain
dont want to vote for Hilary
not sure I believe Obama can do the job

What personally keeps me from voting for either Obama and Hillary are their political beliefs and stances on issues. Obama is entirely too liberal, as evidenced by his comments that he would have free negotiations with terrorist leaders without any type of security measures. Talk about opening the door of our country for another attack. He honestly scares me. IMHO, he is potentially playing with the lives of innocent Americans.
Now, that last statement is bound to get some responses to the likes of this: "Well, what about what Bush has done by getting us into this war?" The response is this. America is a democracy which elects its leaders. Not one member of the Armed Services has ever been forced to join it (less the draft in Vietnam, which isn't relevant to this discussion). At the point when these men and women make the choice to serve and follow the commander in chief who is elected by the people of this country, then their choice is made. And don't come at me with insensitivity remarks towards our troops, because I have served 2 tours in Iraq.
As for Hillary, my big issue with her is the whole health care reform issue. While I agree the system needs an overhaul, her suggestions are the beginnings of socialism for this issue, and secondly, would be next to impossible to implement.
But my voting preferences have absolutely nothing to do with Gender or Race.

What a sad state it is when somebody like Al Sharpton can be the spokesperson for anybody. And it doesn't matter what race or religion Sharpton is so don't bother with that one. The guy would not know ethics, morality, decency, or the truth if any of them slapped him up side the head.

I wish people would stop voting for candidates based on hypothetical corrective measures that they promise to implement in our healthcare system. It is beyond the scope of the office of the president to do anything about it at this point.
The only corrective measure for our current state of healthcare is that it implodes and we build the whole thing over from scratch. Not trying to single you out personally, cubsfan, but my benefits administrator (an outside vendor) was asked this sort of question in a recent meeting, as to which of the candidates had the best plan to fix healthcare, and she laughed.

I pray that Obama doesn't win. I live in the Philly metro area and if Obama were to win, and then get assassinated, then the LA riots would look like childs play. I don't want all of that coming to my front door. If he were to promise that he would never speak in public as President, then I don't have a problem with the man. I just would hate to see a civil war over something that I had nothing to do with.

Because they appear to be fighting on behalf of dis-possessed people. Notice i used the word "appear," because i'm convinced that they are both self-interested confidence men, but the upshot of their behavior is that they look like advocates for the oppressed.

I'll never vote for a women. any man that does needs to look himself in the mirror, and ask if he's holding his johnson or is his wife? I could care less about his ethnic background. I'd vote for Colin Powell in a heartbeat. I wish he were running today.

Until this last guy I was to the point of thinking it was just a change of the face. All else remins the same. That level was greatly lowered recently. 4 years without one would have been an improvement. I would not want to be a Republican seeking election now. What I have found interesting is the number of women who I have heard who don't think a woman should be president. If that is a national comment I don't think she can get the Dem. nod

Since when it is a bad thing for your wife to be holding your johnson?
I'm not opposed to a woman president, just not Bilary. I've had enough of those two.
