If you long for the days of the real America, just go to the game.

I vote for NCAA swimming.  Swim your event, try to have the fastest time.  The only subjectives are starts and turns.  Performance decides, not officials.  Talent is important, hard work and commitment count for more.

I guess you could say pretty much the same for track, cross country and skiing.

How bout soccer. In both college and the pros. No reason for steroids, cuz you don't need brute strength. It seems in the rest of the world to be pure because i can't see that many fans staying around without the purity. There are no arguments about the way to run playoffs or any of that because the tradition of the game is upheld.

i cant put any pro sport in the "pure" category... playing for money (and boatloads of it) tends to strip away purity by the hand fulls. as far as college sports go, i cant put football in the best run, there is just flat out too much subjectivity in the selection. let alone you have to belong to a "certain" conference to be given a real look. for shame. i dont really watch or track college hoops, so i cant judge them. although the natl championship is a lot less subjective than football. that pretty much leave college baseball in my eyes. they do a lot to give everyone a fair chance. just look at the tourney this year. i use fresno st. as an example because im a fan and i follow them, but had it been any other sport, could they have a chance to be sitting where they are now?
