Top 30? That's pretty random, bud. How about we go to a more generally accepted number like say, 25? Top 25? Novel concept, that.

You don't fool me. Why would you say Top 30 instead of Top 25? Oh that's right, because Oregon State played 4 Top 25 Teams while your Terrapins played only 3.

Oh, and CBS Sportsline rated the Strength of Schedule for every of the 119 teams in the NCAA at the end of the season...and lo and behold...

Oregon State #22

Maryland #30

In conclusion, every comment you've made on this post is incorrect. Ouch.

OSU (6-6) in 2008 WHY?  BELOW:

Stanford (W)

PSU (L)

Hawaii (L)

USC (L)

Utah (L)

Washington State (W)

Washington (W)

Arizona State (L)

UCLA (W)

California (W)

Arizona (W)

Oregon (L)

Losing starting D Line, which was ranked #1 in rush D, losing #22 RB in nation Yvenson Bernard, and losing your starting LBs.  DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NOW.  #59 in PPG.  Average 27 PPG while your opponents in total averaged 30.  The only reason you all won most of your games was because of your defense.  SAY GOODBYE TO THAT.  = OSU DONE.  I made my point.  BTW, last time we talked about your recruiting which WAS #27.  Now = #52.  Losers!  HAHAHAHAHA!

.500 season you are projecting...amazing.  That could either be really bad, or really good for us.  Why?  Below:

YOU ARE SUCH AN IDIOT AND EVERYTHING YOU SAY IS WRONG.  (So, we will either have a very bad season, or an amzaing one).

I'm leaning toward the amazing one...go worry about your own team.

With PSU returning most of it's players and we are playing there I would probably agree with you on the (L) but they have already had 7 off season suspensions.  The will be starting a new quarterback and they lost 3 of there top 5 rushers.  They have a cupcake game before playing OS so I don't think that 1 game will adequately prepare them for OS.  This game is far from an (L) for OS.

Hawaii lost their star quarterback and their head coach and they will be playing at OS.  They have shown no rushing game and if you pressure them then it takes away the passing game.  I give OS a (W).

I haven't looked over Utah so I don't know about that one.

Oregon will be playing at OS and they will starting a new quarterback and they also lost their top RB.  I give OS the (W).

I predict we will be 8-4 maybe 9-4 again this year.

As for the starting D line, Riley platoons in a lot of guys.  So we have plenty of experienced players to take up the slack at that position.  We have 2 promising freshman RB this year.  I expect one if not both of them to pan out.  You may want to google Jaquizz Rodgers and have a look for yourself.  Don't concern yourself with his height because OS has done real well with short RB.  Yvenson Bernard & Ken Simonton come to mind.

This is not directed to osubeavs6, but to all the other trashy Oregon State fans out on this message board.  I forget the dude's screen name, but he got an ugly dude as his profile pic.  It's an osu guy.  Anyhow, I discovered this website yesterday.  Go to:

www.nationalchamps.net/2008/earlybird

All the predicted standings.  Hey looks like my ACC and OSU predictions were right.  You all won't be ranked probably in the preseason and Maryland might be.  Go talk to the administrator or owner of that site and complain to him.  You want to don't you.  Have a nice 6-6 season.  Maybe even 4-8.  #52 in the nation recruits.  You are returning only 5/11 starters on offense.  Only 5.  You lost 6 starters.  WOW!  You recruiting is horrible.  Maryland's is better.  You all are returning only 3/11 starters.  8 Starters on defense left.  WOW!!!!!!  And yet you think you will be good.  Let's add that up shall we.  8/22 starters returning.  HAHAHA.  Oh, and as for Maryland.  10/11 on offense and 6/11 on defense.  Let's add that up shall we.  16/22 Starters returing for Maryland.  Maryland will have the best rushing offense and best rush defense in the ACC.  Their passing will be ok, but Maryland's pass defense will be a laughing stock.  Also, your whole Oregon State team will be a laughing stock of the PAC-10.  Wow, right next to the state of the gay people.  California.  Yeah, I bet you beavers are "repezentin", I meant to spell that wrong, that west coast of yours.  While UMD, is "repezentin" the east side.  Virginia Tech, Virginia, Rutgers, Maryland itself, GT, UNC, and about 17 more schools.

PS

Have fun next year.  I'll be watching you.....(no homo).

What do you have to say to the comments in bold.  THAT IS TRUE.  NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO CHANGE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless you are ranked in the top 10,  using AP Poll, the rest of the poll is unreliable.  If I take last years preason poll as an example 9 of the top 10 were still ranked in the top 25 by the end of the season but only 5 of the remaining 15 were ranked by the end of the season.  No matter where you are ranked if your team is put on the cover of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED that is the curse of death. :-)

Just looking at what you have put in bold and the way you have presented it doesn't appear to bode well for OS.  The problem is that appearances can be deceiving.  Our top reciever/punt returner from 2 years ago will be back this year.  He was medical redshirted last year.  Tavita Thompson, OL, will be back at some point next year from his 1 year suspension for rules violations.  We have picked up the #1 JUCO player in the nation, DE.  As I mentioned before, coach Mike Riley rotates in alot of players on defense so we have experienced players ready to become starters.  I feel comfortable with our RB situation.  We have a redshirted freshman in Ryan McCants which looks very promising and this years pick up in Jaquizz Rodgers.  I feel comfortable that at least one or both will pan out.  I feel our weakness is at OL, depth at WR, and our QB situation, so I won't argue against you at those positions.

Here is the most important thing, the Mike Riley factor.  He has shown that, and made me a believer, he knows how to coach.  He can take an average player and make him good,  he can take a good player and make him great, and most of all he can take a team with 28 losing seasons and make them into contenders.  He knows how find those gems in the rough and he knows how to cut and polish them into excellent football players.

With all that being said, you may be right.  We could go 6-6 next year, but you have to believe in your team and your coach.  I didn't think Mike Riley could
