i didnt take the time to go through and read all of the replies to this thread, but i think the reputation and rating systems should be done away with. they dont really serve much of a purpose except for new members gaining a few advantages, but that could be replaced with a time limit. i rarely post here anymore except during the nba season, and even then not much. i see similar activity with other users with top ratings. im guessing a large part of the reputation score has to do with who you are connected with. i just believe that there are more dedicated users on this site who are more deserving of top spots.

Cole, Someone posted this on the Auto Racing board, and I thought I would add it here since it illustrates how flawed the current system is.
I sure am glad CBS doesn't run my company after seeing how they rate and assign value to their customers.. I was just checking out their top ten rated posters and was surprised to see the following..
#1 aguilaverde .. has posted just once in all of MAY and only 4 times in all of June..has a Fantasy level of zero and no game scores.. yet he's top's
#2 BuckeyeCity. been a member since Aug 18, 2006.. and has only posted 6 times total since signing up..a fantasy level of zero and no games played..
#3 Hugo. posted 7 times in all of June ..never played any fantasy games here or and other games for that matter..,,
#4 asonwedge posted 2 times in all of June, has a Fantasy level of zero and has played one game..
#5 chirocolt has been a member since Sep 12, 2006 and has posted just 5 times in over 2 years..
Have you seen enough ? This shows that CBS is clueless as to who their top rated customers really are.. and also shows that ratings are meaningless and nothing to worry about.

Two days and no response? Can someone explain how those listed above are ranked so high on this site, yet really don't participate? It kinda goes against everything that you need to do to move up. Someone posts 5 times in two years, and you consider that Top 10?

Hello Section_725, I'm not sure on how any of this crap works. My reputation level dropped a spot. I just wish they would fix this system. I post often and that dosen't help anything. Maybe I should just only post 2 or 3 times a month. What do you think?

Section, I didn't know this thread existed until someone posted it in response to a post I put on. I joined in Oct 07 and have been a 99 since Jan/Feb. Until this month. This is what I posted:
Now, on to the rating system. On 7/2 I checked my ratings and found after a month of no movement, the score finally changed. I lost rating points.
In June, I posted about 500 posts to alot of different threads. In return I received over 2000 reviews, all 4 and 5. I have 2 fantasy BB teams, 2 Fantasy FB teams, fantasy golf and racing. I also tried to rate alot of 4s because I know you get penalized. My Connections rating went from 98 to 99, Participation went from a 96 to a 99. But, my value went from a 55 to a 28 and I dropped from a Top 1K 99 to a 98
I don't get it, especially when I see some of the posters gaining points daily?????

I've only been a ctive here since April of this year. I played FF for years - ever since CBS started it. But I never even knew these blogs and such existed until April. I Post some, I respond to some, I Rate others, I play the games, but how did I get to be a "top 1K" so soon?

my value went from a 55 to a 28 hrem, I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm not sure but I think Posting alot of threads or even replying to a post with more people reviewing it without replying and rating it hurts your Value Rating which inturns hurts your Reputation level. What is your take on this Section 725?
