I think he will, only because the Big Tuna decided to fire Cam Cameron. Best move the Dolphins made so far in 2008. Now Beck should be given more of a chance to start and show what he's made of. Cause us Cougar fans know what he's made of.

I'm sorry, but Cam Cameron was John Beck's biggest fan in the NFL.  The guy staked his head coaching career on John Beck being at least as good if not better than Brady Quinn.  So you're crazy if you think losing Cameron is going to give Beck a better shot.

I think Beck will be given every opurtunity to start.  The last thing the Dolphins want to do at this time is use another high draft pick on a quarterback, especially with so many other pressing needs on the team.

I hope throwing john in too early last year didn't end up hurting him like it did when he got thrown in his freshman year here.

I agree with USC.  Cam Cameron was Becks biggest fan.  So it will be more difficult for Beck to start unless he really improves this off-season and wins the starter job straight out.  I would love to see him do well, and I agree with another post also.  If Ricky Williams or even Ronnie Brown are healthy then it will make Becks job a little easier.

Peace out brothers.

He shown some pocket presence in the NFL.  Now I think it is totally to do with the coaching what are they going to do with him.  Like you all have said Cam was Becks biggest fan so where does that leave him with the new coaching staff I guess time will  tell.

The only place Beck has to go this year is up. Last year he had no backfield to take the pressure off the pass game, no offensive line to protect him and no recievers that could catch.  Hopefully it will work out this year.

Why go back to Cleo Lemon in week 15? yeah he played in the season finale but that's only because Cameron's precious Lemon was injured so he had no choice but to go back to Beck.

If Cameron was such a huge fan of Beck, then why didn't Coach Cam start Beck when the Dolphins were 0-8, 0-9 well out of playoff contention? but yet Cameron said that Lemon gave them the best chance of winning. So what your not making the playoffs, you drafted the 26 year old, so give him more of chance to try and prove himself, so that he'll have that experience to carry over to his 2nd year and where he'll have a healthy Ronnie Brown, and he's already establish a good relationship with Ted Ginn Jr.

But 2008 is a new year and I guess will have to wait and see.

Cameron didn't want to play Beck at all this past year.  It was his plan from the beginning, of which Beck was fully aware.  Cameron was a firm believer that throwing a guy out there with no supporting cast and no offensive line to merely be slaughtered by a defense is not the best way to bring up a new qb.  Was running for his life really all that helpful to Beck?  Lemon is a little more mobile; less accurate, but more mobile.  So, yes, given the current circumstances of the rest of the team, Lemon was a better choice than Beck for a shot at winning a game.  Which, btw, Cameron knew he needed to even have a chance at coming back for year two.  The statistics Beck and Lemon put up prove Cameron right.

You can fault Cameron for the game plan he put together this season, but you cannot fault him for his ideals in bringing Beck along slowly.  The statistics are on his side.

What John Beck gains with the Dolphins new GM is Parcells is going to be aggressive at bringing in personnel who are actually able to compete at the NFL level.

Hey, I'm a big John Beck fan, but the guy stunk it up this year.  He fumbled several snaps, and on one of his fumbles in the pocket the ball simply fell out of his hand.  That's embarrassing.  He had his moments, and a few nice throws (including several dropped passes).  Because of that, most of the Dolphin's fans are still high on him, and want him to have another chance next season.  They think he's smart, believe him to be a student of the game, and think he'll turn into something comparable to Drew Brees.

But if he comes out next season and lets even one ball simply fall out of his hand while standing in the pocket, they may turn their backs on Beck.

John Beck had a good career at BYU, but I think his weaknesses will be badly exposed in the NFL, so he will likely be a career backup. The things that haunted him at BYU, partucularly early on, like throwing behind receivers, throwing high over the middle, and happy-feet sacks, are habits that come out when he is under pressure. And on a team as bad as Miami, he will be under pressure all the time. His lack of size doesn't help him much either.

I hope I am wrong. And with a good addition like McFadden to take the focus off of him, he could very well be. Now to be fair, I don't think Brady Quinn will amount to anything, either.

I never saw NFL stardom in Beck's future. But that senior year of his was pretty solid. I will just remember him for that.

But that's tthe thing you really can't blame John Beck for sucking it up, cause after all he was a rookie, and we all know that rookie QB's really don't do that well in there first year. Unless your name was Peyton Manning who actually had a decent rookie year.

To me I think John Beck had a better rookie year than Alex Smith, even though that's not saying much.

what i hate is that every pass i saw john throw was a very catchable ball.  I mean the recievers were at as much fault as beck was.

Well, it looks as though John Beck may be on the bench again this season.  The Dolphins just signed Josh McCown from the Raiders today and say that he will be their starting QB.  I guess that the Tuna doesn't want to take a chance on the sophmore.  Although I have to agree.  Beck did not really show a whole lot last year, but hopefully he has improved over the off-season to beat out McCown for the starting job.

Who isn't?

It's not exactly a surprise that Miami went and got another back-up qb.  They don't like Lemon, and Green is getting too old and injury prone.  IMO, it's a good sign for Beck that Miami went and got a proven backup rather than draft another qb.

I think he will be starting next year.  I thought that he did pretty good in a couple of games. If not for his recievers, he probably would have had a couple really good games.  Miami really needs a reciever.  It really hurt Miami when they released Welker last year.  I thought he was pretty dang good.  But I didn't think he would have the year that he had in New England.

I think there is still some talented recievers in free agency they could grab, the only problem is they would have to dish out a little extra money to bring someone in.

Let's hope not. With no receivers and a leaky offensive line, I'd rather see someone else thrown to the wolves. Save Beck until you can get some talent around him. I think he'll do fine in the long run.
