Here are my predictions...hope it comes true.
Wins against Maine, Fl Intl, ISU, NW, Indiana, Purdue and MN (7)
Losses against Wisky, IL, PSU (3)
Tossup - MSU, Pitt (2)
So if we can win the 2 tossup and not screw up a win, well I predict the Outback or Cap One Bowl. At worst we should be 7-5, at best if we steal a win in the loss category, I would say 10-2. I am going with 8-4 overall and feel that the heat needs to be on Coach Ferentz and staff to produce a winning season both on the field and off of it - meaning no freaking arrests!

Maine-W
FL International-W
Iowa State-W
at Pitt-W
Northwestern-W
at Michigan State-L
at Indiana-W
Wisconsin-W
at Illinois-L
Penn State-W
Purdue-W
at Minnesota-W
My prediction is 10-2 give or take a game either way, but mind you those are W's are SHOULD wins. I don't think that we'll have the same problems as last year in terms of off the field stuff (knock on wood). As for on the field, it'll be nice to have some players with experience back. Offense should be tough and so should the front four on D. Hopefully, the new D-Backs step up. Oh well, we'll find out in spring.
Go Hawks!

Your exactly right hekeye. I dont think its posible to have as many suspensions and injuries as we did last year again. I think that this will be a better season and I am predicting that they will go 9-3 (6-2). I agree with your picks mostly. I think that this year relies on our extreemely young runningbacks. We need to get a balanced offense for Christensen. Cant wait till next year.

Anywhere from 10-2 to 8-4. I dont see us losing 5 this year. If i had to make a prediction in writing i would say 9-3 losing to Illinois PSU and Wisky. But we wil probably lose to ISU again and throw everything all out of wack. I pray it doesnt happen but always seems to lately.

Maaaaan......here we go again! We do this every year and EVERY YEAR WE ARE DEAD-WRONG!!!
Take out your wins vs. ISU and take your pick of NW/IN/Purdue<----we always seem to blow one of those games.
7 wins, tops. I'll be happy with a bowl bid, period after last year's debacle.

Im nervous to even post in this thread, hear ya Clemenza!
I think there is zero chance of us not going to a bowl this next year.......... I also thought we had a very legit chance to win 10 this past year including a bowl win.......... So Im not putting any numbers out but I am of course very very excited for next year. I'm also very very excited for the next 3 years as we were able to develop so much young depth this year and it sounds are locking up a very solid recruiting class! Momentum is coming everyone!
It always has been, and of course always will be, great to be a Hawkeye and the next 2-4 years will be no exception!!!

I don't think that we will lose to ISU this year. I don't want to jinx us (knock on wood), but I don't think that ISU stands a chance coming to Kinnick this year. What needs to happen though is minimalizing the allotted tickets to the ISU fans like they did last year to us. It obviously worked for them, as the lop-sided number of fans were ISU's 12th man and it beat us. A move like that only threw more gas onto the fire in this rivalry, and quite honestly, this year the Hawks need to pull out all the stops and simply decimate ISU in every fashion. I would love to see only black and gold in Kinnick with a tiny corner of red in the nosebleed section. Not only that, but run up the score. I don't want to win by 3 or 7 or 14. I want to see a 30+ point win. It would just make me feel better.
(knock on wood)

I would agree with Cornhead's predictions, save for that season-ending loss to Minnesota. 8-4......Alamo Bowl, here we come!

Hey there is nothing wrong with the Alamo Bowl. It's a bowl game a least. Besides, usualy some of the best bowl games of the year are played there. Its a very well respected bowl game and its in the richest recruiting site in the nation. Personally, I always make sure to watch the Alamo Bowl. Good luck next year, and hopefully are teams will land a bowl game (and hopefully a good one).

How is it that no matter how bad ISU may be, they seem to have our number? We owned them for so long, it hurts to see them give us fits! Do you think we are in the habit of looking past them?

I agree that it seems we lose to ISU and NW every other year. Living in Chicago, it's been painful to watch them lose in Evanston on last minute comebacks. At least last year we beat them.
I think the lower the spread against ISU, the better chance we have against them. There is some voodoo going on.

My prediction is 10-2
No Michigan, or Ohio State on the schedule looks pretty promising, so is the bye week right before traveling to Illinois! Ithink we could lose th MSU on the road, and possibly PSU at home. Either way it is a pretty favorable schedule this year.

I agree Clemenza. If we win 7 games, maybe will get the Gaylord bowl. If the bowl selection committees look at 2007, then we shouldn't be in a bowl game for a couple of years. What a pathetic season.
We will be lucky if we go 6-6. Maybe in a couple of years when Reilly is setting Big 10 / NCAA sack records, then maybe just maybe we can get back to the 10 win seasons we got used to.
BTW...Reilly Reiff is an absolute animal. Thank God he didn't sign with those G-dam Huskers!!!!

The Hawkeyes like always will place all their emphasis on the ISU game which will set them up for an upset at Pitt.

Cy Fan,
The Hawkeyes do not place all of their emphasis on the ISU game. We place our emphasis on the Big 10 season.
You know, sure as heck, that ISU lives and dies by the Iowa and Nebraska game. ISU fans would be happy with a 2-10 season if they only won those two games.
Iowa fans are used to and expect better results...don't flatter yourself.
