From what has been going around, we need to hope Crede is healthy because the Giants are supposedly desperate for a 3B and are offering Lowry. That would be great if there could be a nice little package to get him here. Plus maybe Rowand is out there pushing hard to get him since they are good friends.

The only problem with Owens is that if he isnt going to be an everyday player I am not sure how effective he will be. You saw when he was splitting time last year he wasnt doing too much but once they just let him play everyday he ended up doing pretty well. If he is going to be a leadoff hitter it cant be once every 3 days.

  • The fact that for my entire life until 2005 I was being told how "irrelevent" the White Sox were to all of Cook Co. is starkly contrasted when Cubs fans show up to criticize White Sox fans' analyses of their team. What a crock! Go back to Boy's Town ya trixies!!!
  • In relation, I love how when Zambrano is an "A$$", he's "wearing his emotions on his sleeve", but when AJ is getting cheap-shotted by Barrett, he's the "biggest A$$ in all of baseball." Well, Trixie Nation, let daddy educate you on a few things: That A$$ AJ kept the entire 2005 season alive (INDIVIDUALLY in the ultimate team sport) with a genius heads up play against the Angels in the playoffs which had he done that in a Chub uni, you people would have wrote songs about, hung billygoats all over the city like X-mas ornaments and waxed his salami for eternity; he has one more ring than the last entire 100 years of your franchise: LET ME SAY IT WITH MORE EMPHASIS - HE HAS ONE MORE RING BY HIMSELF THAN THE ENTIRE LAST 100 YEARS OF CUBS HISTORY!!! That's one more than your beloved Sandberg, Grace, Hawk, Jenkins, and that gimp Santo (who you keep parading around like an oracle - pathetic!) Your team gets close enough to choke (and no it's not Bartman's fault, it's Gonzalez's!), he makes the other guy choke. No Contest! To be under any other notion is par for the course on Waveland - living in a world of constant denial and fiction.
  • Lou is not going to save this franchise, only tarnish his own career.
  • Sam Zell should scare the crap out of the educated Cubs fan.
  • What will you people do if you have play at the Cell for a year while Wrigley gets a refurb?
  • Cabrera for Garland is going to kill this team. If we swing a deal ala Crede for Bedard, it will be even more apparent.

I just think that the sox have to get some more pitching. Danks wont scare anyone yet maybe in a couple of years he will be but now he should be a long relief guy.

I love the Sox... just like the rest of the guys that have already commented.  Unless things chance in the next couple months... I see the Sox and Royals fighting it out for 4th in the division.  Crede will be traded before 4/1 and our pitching is not going to change much.  Jose, Danks and Floyd are not what we need to win championships.

Hopefully Kenny has a plan and will get things turned around in the next couple years... but until then, it's going to be ROUGH!

The trump card that will ruin your fantasy!!!!

YOU STILL HAVE OZZIE, and HE STINKS!!!!!

You mentioned nothing about the fact, with the exception of Konerko, your entire team reltively speaking is aging at a rapid pace and Dye, Thome, and AJ's numbers have fallen off since your fluke World Series win when everything came together.

You keep signing Rejects from the Royals DJ Carasco great signing. Ocatavio Dotel awsome, if Atlanta with probably the best GM in the business doesn't want him, then you fill in the blank. You traded off Jon Garland, great move, are you looking to compete with Pittsburgh for the first pick next year. Garland is not great but, he is steady and can put together some nice games. You traded Tyler Lumsden one of your top pitching prospects to the Royals for Mike MacDougal, How is that working out? Seriously you picked up Orlando Cabrera and sit there and talk about how great he is. Yes solid defender, however, a .273 Career hitter, last year was his only season over .300 and he hit .301, He has only hit 15+ homers in one season and that was in 2003 he hasn't hit more than 9 since then. Nick Swisher, great guy but, a career .251 hitter, a guy who hit 35 homers a couple years ago who was also supposedly linked to possible HGH, a guy who strikes out almost twice as often as he walks. Oh and best of all he was still under contract at 400,000 and if the Athletics are willing to ship a guy who has only played 3 years and is cheap, then you know something is wrong.

Oh and I saved the best for last. AGE you seriously are running a retirement village with a few young nurses to take care of them. Your old, slow, and pitching is HORRIBLE!!!!!!

Good luck as the Royals watch you in and the Twins in the rear-view mirror.

You do realize you are a Royals fan.  No need for anymore discussion with you.

As for the 2008 White Sox, pitching should be a major concern.  Kenny Williams has to make a move for another starter.  Fields or Crede should be moved for a reliable arm.  I hated giving up Garland.  If Floyd is in the rotation and Jose pitches like he did for the majority of  '07 it is going to be another long year for the Sox.

I think the Sox offense will make a big comeback this year, but I dont like Owens in center.  He is not an everyday player right now, he may never be.  Konerko and Dye will have a huge year this season.

Cabrera is a huge step up defensively for us(we gave up to much for him).

If everything goes perfectly the Sox can challenge for a wild card spot.  Otherwise I'm looking at a season around .500.

We will definitely finish ahead of the AAA Royals.  You can take that to the bank.

haha wow venom from a Royals fan, wonder where that came from.  Ozzie may suck but he has more World Series rings than the Royals franchise does.  And the Sox did really miss Tyler Lumsden last year ( he had a 5.88 ERA at AAA.)  Yeah that would have helped.
