HAT TRICK!!!!!!!!  Pavel Datsyuk!  Man, the Red Wings are putting it to the Stars, in their own building.  I don't know what will happen in the finals vs the Penguins or Flyers, but I think we can call the Stars officially done.

Henrik Zetterberg is amazing. That shorthanded goal was just sick.  And while Datsyuk got that hat trick, I think most of that can be owed to Zetterberg.

Glad to see it was a well played game after the stupidity at the end of game two.  I'm sure Stars fans aren't feeling that way, though.

So I can see this is still the only place for any kind of intelligent, civil hockey conversation.  My god there's a lot of nonsense being flung around out there...ironic considering the title of this thread.

Anyway here's what the Pens/Flyers series comes down to for me - execution of game plan.  I think the Penguins are executing their game plan better, not much better mind you, just "better" enough to win.  The Pens clearly want to go out early and grab the lead, I think that's why the 1st period has been a little loose and sloppy, and about halfway through the game they want to play shut-down defense and take away any momentum and rhythm from the Flyers.  Combine that with being a little more opportunistic and getting production from a few more players and the flyers injury situation and you get a couple 4-2 wins.  I don't think there's been much difference in goaltending, officiating or "chippy" play.

I agree with the notion that the most important game in any 7 game series is game 3, you know, you're never really in any danger until you lose one at home.  Man this should be an awesome game...I can hear the Crosby Sucks chants now.

Good luck to the flyers...but not too much!

Well, the bad news is both defensemen are likely to be out for game three.

Prospal and the Briere line all neeed to come up big. I agree Prospal is the one who needs to do more .. he needs to do more every second game in my opinion. He just doesn't like to do the little things to help his line out ... but he must now.

Richards can't do it alone. Most importantly with the last line change, the Flyers have to play a good tight game and GET THE FIRST GOAL. With a lack of defensive thrust, they are doomed to low scoring games, but with the lead, they might get the Pens out of position when they thrust from the back. Moreover, their defense is better suited to standing up and then clearing the puck versus transitioning into offense.

They need to counter if Pittsburgh comes at them, and best to sustain the offense if they get it into Pittsburgh zone as Pens are not all that tough to score on if you can make them play in their own zonet.

Sure hope Flyers can make a series of it. Game three should be very exciting in Philly.

How many more guys can we lose? Maybe the second blue line will go down today. Argh.

Congrats to the Pens. If you win tonight, that little hope the Flyers had goes straight out the window. Good luck against that big red monster in Detroit! Those guys might very well be unstoppable.

Hey whats up all...The SoCal Fantasy Champ is here!!!!

Just so you all know, I'm going to the Flyers/Penguins game tonight and the Flyers are 2-0 in the playoffs so far when I am in attendance...So thats some good news!!!

All seriousness tho, crash Marc-Andre Fleury and he will crumble!!! The first period of Game One is exactly what they must do for 60 minutes...The Rangers didn't crash the net and they were sent packing, so the same result will happen to the Flyers if they don't take the advice of Vosco!!!

I'm pulling for the Flyers to take this avator away!!! Please!!!
