So I can see this is still the only place for any kind of intelligent, civil hockey conversation. My god there's a lot of nonsense being flung around out there...ironic considering the title of this thread.
Anyway here's what the Pens/Flyers series comes down to for me - execution of game plan. I think the Penguins are executing their game plan better, not much better mind you, just "better" enough to win. The Pens clearly want to go out early and grab the lead, I think that's why the 1st period has been a little loose and sloppy, and about halfway through the game they want to play shut-down defense and take away any momentum and rhythm from the Flyers. Combine that with being a little more opportunistic and getting production from a few more players and the flyers injury situation and you get a couple 4-2 wins. I don't think there's been much difference in goaltending, officiating or "chippy" play.
I agree with the notion that the most important game in any 7 game series is game 3, you know, you're never really in any danger until you lose one at home. Man this should be an awesome game...I can hear the Crosby Sucks chants now.
Good luck to the flyers...but not too much!
