I hate for this otherwise nice thread to end on slick vic's comment, so I will just thank the dozens of fans who contributed to it, to the Illini fans who - for the most part - stuck it out to the bitter end, but who otherwise acted and interacted with SoCal fans in a most civilized manner.

Yep... but let's all be prepared for SEC fans (a few) to say that USC plays in a weak conference AFTER USC beats the OSU on 9/13...

I am torn by a BCS N/C game in Florida with a SEC Team or a the OSU rematch just to see SEC Nation complain....

Of course, we have to play the games first. Don't forget that almost every season, there seems to be someone who dents our fenders - Stanford last year, the bRuins and beavers the year before.

It is HARD to win them all. Only the 2004 season was a perfecto since Coach Carroll arrived in town. And we had Norm Chow calling the offense. Now he is across town with the bRuins.

And while we're all salivating over playing Ohio State in our house, let's not overlook the Virginia Cavaliers, whom we play August 30th, in their house.

So let's do it like the team does - one game at a time, and we'll see where we end up after we finish the regular season - just like always!

Indeed!  I just feel really good about the 2008 squad!   The Home sched in PAC 10 clearly favors our men!

I have a feeling that we're going to get a taste of the entire season with those first two games. If our men can take care of business and win while being in control of the games, then we can predict with greater accuracy how the season will go.

The wild card is injury. May our guys stay healthy, stay sharp, and stay away from drugs, alcohol, shady agents, shady women, shady media. amen and amen
