As an alternative option to the 15-game regular season schedule, I've created a 9-game schedule that might make things easier -- and possibly more interesting. I split the 16 teams into 2 conferences:

Each team would play every other team in their conference once. In addition, each team would play two "non-conference" games apiece. I drew names out of a hat to decide who plays who in the non-conference slate. Here are the proposed schedules for each team (NC signifies non-conference game):

Some people are against a round-robin season before a tournament, but take a look at the schedule before you decide against it. The regular season will consist of five weeks, with five games played every Monday-Thursday, and four on each Friday. Each team will play three games per week. The tournament will consist of four rounds and will be completed by the end of week six. I've included home and away games for each team (willing to scratch it if you're not into it), with the top 8 in the draft selection order getting 7 home games and 8 away games, and the last 8 in the order getting 8 home games and 7 away games. If all goes to plan we should be over with this thing just as sport's dead-season is ending. Here's the schedule. Let me know what your thoughts are.
