What more could be said that hasn't been said to describe Derek Fisher?

Clutch, heart, team, passion... Floor General?

One of the most underrated players of our current generation will ever see, D-Fish night after night gives 110% regardless of the situation. And how many big playoff games have we seen him in so far?

Regarding an injury suffered due to a partial tendon tear in his foot earlier this year, he was quoted saying:

"There was definitely something going on that just kind of flew under the radar that ultimately led to the tendon kind of popping a little bit. I plan on just going. We need all the bodies that we have available." Completely selfless.

So far in the playoffs the lines haven't been LeBron-esque, but they don't have to be:

  1. 3-3-4
  2. 10-5-3
  3. 14-3-0
  4. 7-3-3
  5. 5-3-6
  6. 22-1-2
These stats help prove that if you play fantasy sports, and you don't watch the games, you'll never know the difference makers on the court that don't show up in the box. Players that affect your superstars, and make your not-so-superstars better.

He took a paycut to play in L.A. for medical reasons you already know, and Lakers fans wouldn't have it any other way.

We would all agree that trading for Pau Gasol was one of the best things Mitch Kupchak has done in recent memory.  However, bringing Derek Fisher back to the Lakers this season will have the second biggest impact on their playoff run.  Nice work pointing out one of the most underated guards in the league.

Now, what's going to happen when the Hornets and Lakers match up in the Conference Finals?  Can Chris Paul actually will his team to compete with Kobe, Pau and Odom?

Yes. Chris Paul is the answer. Kobe can't guard Paul. It's on.

Since you brought up Mitch... How about Kobe giving much love at the MVP Conference? One of the classiest moves I've seen from an athlete, regardless of the name behind him. That L.A. Swagger was definitely in full effect.

Hey Sherm, do you think they will have Kobe guarding Paul the whole game?  If that were the case, I think Kobe would do just fine.  Since Kobe is such an offensive force, a lot of people forget that he actually plays pretty solid defense.  However, I'm guessing Phil won't want him chasing Paul around all night, so he will likely mix in Fisher/Farmar to defend him Paul.

Rehban, I agree, Kobe has really got the PR-machine rolling right now.  I'm sure deep-down he's a good guy, but he's using every opportunity he has to promote his new image of team-first guy and community-volunteer guy.  After what did or didn't happen in Colorado in '03, I'm sure David Stern has him on speed dial.  You can't have the best player in the league involved in scandals like that.
