Top 10 Storylines of the NCAA Tournament (so far)
- Stephen Curry. Is there any other way to begin any article about the NCAA Tournament? As I've stated numerous times the last few days I was one of the few people who knew he was just this good. Even knowing how talented he is what he is doing is by far one of the most impressive things I've ever seen covering a NCAA Tournament.
- Duke is at home. The Blue Devils did not have an inside presence and the Blue Devils paid for that. Joining them at home are Georgetown and Connecticut.
- Western Kentucky.....but let's be honest here. In Setember before the season started if I had asked any coach in division I college basketball if he'd like his chances of beating Drake and San Diego to get the Sweet 16........well let's just say he'd be jumping for joy. No disrepect to either squad because both certainly deserved their bids and played very well while representing their schools.
- The Lopez twins are still playing and have improved a lot in the past year. In last season's opening game against Louisville they were embarrased. This year they are very legitimate title contenders.
- Coaching matchups in the next round should be the best of the best. Bruce Pearl vs. Rick Pitino. Roy Williams vs. Tom Izzo.......just to name a few.
- The best player sitting at home right now is......Luke Harangody. He led the Irish as far as they went but when the 3s stopped falling Notre Dame's run ended in a heartbeat.
- Butler vs. Tennessee in the second round? In my opinion it makes this the worst job ever done by any Selection Committee. Two top ten teams with over 30 wins met earlier than any year in NCAA Tournament hustory. That is terrible. Butler is clearly one of the 16 best teams in the country.
- Belmont. The Bruins showed they are clearly one of the better teams that lost in the first round this season. Congratulations on a great season guys.
- The Biggest Upset so far? I'd say Davidson over Georgetown although it does not surprise me at all.
- Best 3 games so far: (1) Western Kentucky-Drake; (2) San DIego-Connecticut, (3) Texas A&M-UCLA
