Game 4 and Staahl's Goal

Posted on: May 16, 2008 9:59 am

First of all, it shouldn't have counted and the game shouldn't have even been that close.
Yet again the refs were way to inconsistent. They saw some stuff but let other stuff go, on both sides! Before Staahl's second goal down in the Pittsburgh end, you saw a Penguin punch a Flyer in the back of the head right in front of the ref. That's not "goonin' it up? (As some Penguins fans have said about the late game antics on various replies on here.)
Then on the other end Talbot controlled the puck with a "high stick." Which wouldn't have led to the second goal. Go back and look and you will see it. Just saying that the NHL really needs to re-evaluate its refereeing system and how they are rewarded for their performance!
Also, great win for the Flyers! Where the hell was that effort in games 1-3?!!

Secondly, the news that Timmonen and Coburn coming back to play Game five is Great news for the Flyers and this series, even if the Flyers lose.
This would be a welcome addition to the Flyers if nothing else to get some less ice time for hatcher. It also would mean better matchups with Crosby and Malkin.
All of this positive news will mean nothing if the Flyers don't score FIRST on Sunday!
It makes all of the difference in how they play the Penguins.
GO FLYERS!
