Rick Majerus is losing his mind

Posted on: February 28, 2008 9:18 am

St. Louis coach Rick Majerus, who already has raised eyebrows this season by stating a pro-abortion pro-choice stance that conflicts with the Catholic leadership of his university, was quietly reprimanded this week after coming unhinged Saturday during an 81-64 loss at Charlotte.

According to people at the game, Majerus lost control of his emotions after a shot-clock issue went against his Billikens. Majerus approached the scorer's table, found the offending official and unleashed verbal obscenities. One source said Majerus made an obscene gesture as well.

Officials at Charlotte and the A-10 confirm that Majerus was rebuked by the league and has apologized to Charlotte.

Of course the real question is this: What would Ashley Judd think of Majerus now?

Rick Majerus is losing his mind

It's amazing this guy is still alive, let alone coaching basketball.  He should be a contestant on Biggest Loser

Rick Majerus is losing his mind

Thats a very funny first comment!

He is a  great coach, but needs to realize that he wasn't going to win at St. Louis.  If he will eventually win, it is going to take time.  The kids today don't remember his success at Utah, and he really needs to get assistants that are going to pound the recruiting scene hard!  He had Alex Jensen, one of his former players, as an assistant for a little bit.  I dont currently see him on their website anymore.  Jensen is a geek though--they need guys that can sell a program that has no name notoriety.  Once the players get there, they will be coached by a fantastic strategist.

Rick, it is gonna take time.  You had the USC job and you saw what Timmy Floyd is doing there.  Thats the place to get the players you need to win!  You need to get in the recruiting game because if you have at least similar caliber players to the Nationally ranked programs, you will compete because of your coaching genius.  You and Kevin Love would have made a lovely couple had you been on the West Coast!

Before you blow your top again, remember that you chose St. Louis, who, although they are in the A10, live in obscurity.  I know Larry Hughes went there and maybe one of the Diener's and thats about it.

Get a GREAT recruiting assistant! Thats the answer.

Pro-abortion?

Is anyone "pro-abortion?"   I thought he said that he was personally "pro-choice."  If he is pro-abortion, then yes, my eyebrows are raised.

Shoddy journalism, Majerus never said he was pro-abortion.  CBS should be careful of a defamation of character lawsuit when they post news on a website.
