The Ragin' Cajuns lost offensive coordinator Blake Anderson to Southern Mississippi in the offseason, but the transition for his replacement, Ron Hudson, seemed quite easy in the spring.

After all, Hudson has been the offensive line coach the past three years and has produced five all-conference players.

Secondly, Hudson has a wealth of talent returning, beginning at quarterback and tailback where seniors Michael Desormeaux and Tyrell Fenroy are coming off 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

The offensive line took some hits injury wise in the spring, but Brad Bustle and Bart Bryant should be back by the fall.

One focus in the spring was to continue to improve the passing game. Returning receivers Jason Cherry and Derrick Smith are proven players, but one to watch in 2008 will be Lance Kelley, who has a lot of talent but needs to be more consistent.

Defensively, the Ragin' Cajuns are very athletic but need to be more consistent against the run. They lost two all-conference players in linemen Korey Raymond Rodney Hardeway, but the group has a chance to be even better in 2008.

Expectations will be high at ULL in 2008 due to the number of quality returning players. It remains to be seen if the Ragin' Cajuns can live up to them.
