Vandals report: Inside slant
Things don't get any easier for the Idaho Vandals this week. Idaho (1-5 overall, 0-2 WAC) plays at Fresno State, which is coming off an overtime home loss to Hawaii. The game marks the first for Idaho against a team that finished with a winning record a year ago. On the other hand, Idaho hasn't beaten a Football Bowl Subdivision team since Oct. 14, 2006. That's 21 consecutive defeats, 15 of which are WAC opponents. Coach Robb Akey's team also has back-to-back road games for the first time this season, having to play at Louisiana Tech the following week. Idaho's last FBS and WAC wins came in Ruston. Akey said the Vandals will continue to plod away and hopefully come up with a breakthrough win against a schedule that will continue to get tougher. The Vandals still must play Fresno State, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, San Jose State, Boise State and Hawaii. All but Hawaii have records of .500 or better.
