--Though there likely will be more shuffling and changes to the depth chart as the fall progresses, the starters across the offensive line coming out of the spring were junior Cory Lambert and sophomore Chris Hairston at the tackle spots, junior Jamarcus Grant and freshman Wilson Norris at guards, and junior Thomas Austin at center.

--A year ago this time, incoming freshman Willy Korn was considered a serious challenger for the starting role at quarterback with then-junior Cullen Harper an inexperienced mystery. But Harper's record-setting season and Korn's season-ending injury ended that speculation early. Korn got a medical redshirt and is still listed as a freshman for 2008 behind Harper. He was 14 of 25 passing in the spring game for 117 yards with one interception.

SPRING MOVERS

WR Xavier Dye -- The sophomore convinced his coaches that he eventually will become Clemson's primary threat at receiver when Aaron Kelly leaves. He had six catches, one for a touchdown, in the spring game.

DE Da'Quan Bowers -- The heralded freshman recruit had an impressive spring and could pass returning veteran Kevin Alexander to replace the departed Phillip Merling.

WR Marquan Jones -- Jones is another true freshman who got the benefit of spring practice after enrolling early. He faces a lot of competition but still could get on the field if injuries strike the position.

LB Scotty Cooper -- The sophomore solidified his hold on the starting spot on the strong side.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I've got some questions concerning the offensive line with them being so young. That will be a concern, especially with such a quality opponent in our opener. But, with our returners and leaders, I feel good about the season." -- Coach Tommy Bowden, looking at the 2008 season, which begins with a game at Atlanta against Alabama.

The Tigers have done it again. They landed another 5 star recruit for the class of 09. Now they have commitments from the 2 top safeties in next years class.

OBTW -  I hear the gamecocks got a commitment from some 1 star tight end from up north somewhere. Way to go gcocks.

I just got back from interviewing at Clemson for grad assistantships in the Student Affairs program (it's a masters degree).  I should be able to get in to the program and I am very excited to be a part of the Clemson community!  One question...how can I get my user name changed on this website?  I still like Florida, but I think it seems out of place since I'll be going ...(more)

I know the pre-season is full of hype and a bunch of unkowns, and give that spring training hasn't happened yet, it's still way early.  But given what we do know:

1.  You guys were a decent team last year and should remain one this year.

2.  The ACC is weak, and there's not a game on your shedule that if the line were set today you wouldn't be favo ...(more)

I believe it is Ricky Sapp. His potential is still unrealized as far as I'm concerned. Anybody want to change my mind?

Hey Clemson.  Listen.  I want to ask you to help Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Possibly FSU and Wake, to rally against West Virginia.  Please.  Go to WV Football message board, go to view all threads, and you'll see a thread that says, "HAHAHA Read this WV Bamaz."  Something like that.  We need your help.  Please reply back to me ASAP.  GO ACC.  ...(more)

This site rocks.  You get a free starting balance to bet on any games.  If you work it up to $10 or more, you can cash it out and get a check in the mail.  There are no catches and NO DEPOSITING is even allowed on the site.  If you lose your first bet, you don't even go to zero balance.  They give you your starting kitty over and over again.  This is a lot of f ...(more)
