There was a lot going on at Boston College. Some of it even had to do with next year's BC team.

With quarterback Matt Ryan and offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus both potential first-round picks, BC held a huge Pro Day for what turned out to be 42 NFL types, as players from BC and other local schools were tested with the draft coming up.

Off to the side, watching, was a large contingent of the players who still have time to play at The Heights. And the coaches were there too, with offensive coordinator Steve Logan leading Ryan through his throwing and Jagodzinski greeting several former NFL colleagues.

But the focus will soon shift, from where the now-former BC players wind up to what next year's team will do, with Jagodzinski coming off an 11-3 season and a narrow miss of the Orange Bowl.

Obviously, the man they call Jags has to find a replacement for Ryan, with backup Chris Crane the obvious but not certain choice. The coach also needs a running back and that was likely to be a freshman.

BC had a load of seniors last year, but also played guys who have time left, so the experience is there even if the program was smacked hard by graduation of key personnel.

We're looking pretty good for recruitng so far this year. Number 32 in the nation Our big land so far is Josh Haden, who is an all purpose back. If we can land Streeter, Johnson, Abrams-Ward, or another big name this could be a great class for us.

I just set up a new college baseball forum a couple of days ago and I'm trying to get the word spread out. Should be fun once the season gets going.

Do you think Matt Ryan will be selected no.1 overall by the Miami Dolphins?

Heading into the Scouting Combine it was all about my 40 time. It's usually not that important for a quarterback, certainly doesn't carry the same weight as the other skill positions, but for me I wanted to stress that I'm not a complete stiff. It was important that I showed the people making the decisions that I could more than get myself out of trouble on that field. I can move an ...(more)

Well, the season's officially over. We did it. This is the first time Boston College has had 11 wins since 1942. Matt Ryan may very easily be a Top 10 Draft Pick (If not Top 5, I heard the Falcons were interested). We came a long way, from not even being in the Top 25 at the beginning of the season, to going to Number 2. Finishing out the season like this is great.

I swear, Boston College is on a tear in bowl games for the last 8 years. At this rate, the program could hold the all-time bowl win record among all college teams. Many people downplayed how strong the Spartans really were, and they gave everything they had to win. Be proud of your team stepping up and making the plays necessary to garner another consecutive bowl win.

its not that bad of a year for BC. we won 11 games but came up short in our ultimate goal, an ACC title. it will be interesting to see how many guys we put in the 1st round ( Ryan, Silva..... Possible's Tribble & Cherilus ). if all 4 go, thats something to be proud of as a BC fan. those are Tennesse or Florida St. type numbers and if we can do it, kudos to TOB for recruiting such stella ...(more)
