It's been fun and encouraging for many Arkansas fans to expect that coach Bobby Petrino will transform the Razorbacks into a wide-open, high-powered offensive team.

One problem with that belief is that Petrino's offensive success as a head coach came when he was the coach at Louisville against Conference USA and Big East teams.

"You are not going to score that many points because of the speed of the defenses, the quality of the players and the coaches," Petrino said. "We just need to score enough to win."

Another problem is that the Razorbacks lost their four best offensive players -- tailbacks Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, fullback Peyton Hillis and receiver Marcus Monk.

Yet another problem is that the only returning quarterback with any game experience, Casey Dick, has a lot to prove as a passer. There are several receivers who have played in games, including Lucas Miller, London Crawford, Reggie Fish and Crosby Tuck, but like Dick, they have to show they can excel in the passing game.

With so many questions at quarterback, running back, fullback, wide receiver, cornerback, safety and middle linebacker, this will be a wide-open spring at Arkansas.

"For players, a change in coaching staffs is good for some and not as good for others," Petrino said. "Some players have to prove themselves again and others get a new start and an opportunity to work without preconceived notions."

I am excited about the upcoming football season! Everywhere I look online all of the early predictions for the Hogs are either fifth or sixth in the West. I am glad no one thinks we are going to be any good! Coach Petrino has got a great staff and I feel that he will not get outcoached in any games this year. Yes, I know we have lost some serious talent this year, I watched the NFL Draft. how c ...(more)

Does anyone know how some of these big name freshman we signed have been doing? I read the article where Petrino said they need to be ready and stronger.

So I am wondering if anyone knows if Adams, Wright, Curtis, Wilson, etc.. have been working hard and getting bigger and ready for their freshman year where their name may be called to contribute right away.

We need some of the ...(more)

There has been A LOT of speculation on where he will be drafted.  Mock drafts are a dime a dozen and don't mean much of anything once the trades start.  Everyone keeps talking about need, but teams try to maneuver around to draft the player they need at the draft spot where they can get him.  Or they stay put and just take the best player they can when it's their turn ...(more)

Okay Darren McFadden and Felix Jones have been drafted in day one as expected.  How many Hogs will be drafted in total during this years draft?  I say Peyton Hillis, Marcus Harrison, Robert Felton, Matteral Richardson, Michael Grant, and Marcus Monk will also be drafted.

I hope someone takes a look at Matt Hewitt, Kevin Woods, Robert Johnson, Weston Dacus, and Nate Garn ...(more)

(POLL) Who do you think will win Rookie of the Year in the NFL next year?  I know this is early but I got to do something to pass the time until football season.  I really believe that Felix Jones will be the rookie of the year with his running game and special teams performances.  If you think someone else-let us all know your pick. Vote on!!

I am done talking about Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, they are no longer Arkansas Razorbacks, that is the past.  Let us focus on a much brighter future.

Who all went to the game? What did you guys think?

(POLL) Here are a few teams with a shot at drafting DMAC.  Who would you like to draft him and why?  Not necessarily who you think will draft him -- that's a separate poll.  I know there will be trades and he could be drafted by someone else.  Feel free to mention other teams not listed.
