Hawaii Bowl to remain on Christmas Eve

HONOLULU (AP) -- The 2005 Hawaii Bowl will be played at Aloha Stadium on Christmas Eve for the second consecutive year.

Jim Donovan, the game's executive director, announced Wednesday that ESPN would show the game between Western Athletic Conference and Conference USA teams live at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.

The first two Hawaii Bowls were played on Christmas Day before the 2004 game was held on Christmas Eve.

Hawaii has played in all three, losing to Tulane 36-28 in the first game before beating Houston 54-48 in triple overtime in 2003 and UAB 59-40 last year.
