THE GOOD NEWS
A nucleus in the frontcourt returns. Charles Corbin earned Big South all-freshman team honors and George Valentine proved to be an adept rebounder when he wasn't in foul trouble. Andy Buechert developed into a scoring threat at year's end.

THE BAD NEWS
The Eagles will have a major void at point guard, where Chris Gaynor was a four-year starter. Justin Burton got some minutes in 07-08, but not enough to proclaim him ready to run the show in 08-09.

ROSTER REPORT

--F Mantoris Robinson earned a reputation as one of the Big South's top one-on-one defenders. He held High Point's Arizona Reid, the league's player of the year, to 10 points in a win over the Panthers in Rock Hill and limited Liberty's Anthony Smith, who scored 20 or more in five of his final six games, to nine points in a win at LU in February.

--G Chris Gaynor and G Michael Jenkins were each named second-team all-Big South. It was the first time since the 2003-04 season that no Eagles made the all-conference first team.
