FINAL RECORD
11-21 overall, 4-10 in conference, sixth place.

WHAT WENT RIGHT
The team held together and even seemed to play better when Eric Bridgeland took over. It definitely improved late in the season. Even when it lost, it was usually in the game until the end. The Feb. 16 victory over Santa Clara was the Waves' only win over a team in the top four of the conference and was the high point of the season.

WHAT WENT WRONG
Losing 21 games is not a positive, and it's never good when the coach leaves at midseason, especially when there is no warning. Vance Walberg's resignation led to the departure of three key players -- Jason Walberg, Dan Johnson and Jarrad Henry. The Waves got blown out by San Francisco in their next-to-last game, and Rico Tucker's knee injury ruined their chances in the conference tournament. When they also lost Ryan Holmes for the game against San Diego, they were doomed.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"They faced more adversity in three months than most teams face in four years. But they never quit." -- Pepperdine interim coach Eric Bridgeland.
