N.C.-Asheville 87, VMI 77

 

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) Bryan McCullough scored 23 points _ including his 1,000th career point - and grabbed nine rebounds off the bench to lift North Carolina-Asheville to an 87-77 win against VMI on Saturday.

Oliver Holmes added 21 points and nine rebounds and Brett Warner had 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (4-11, 1-3 Big South Conference).

Matt Coward scored 23 points to lead three players in double-digit scoring for the Keydets (5-8, 0-3). Reggie Williams added 17 points and Levar Joseph posted 10.

The Keydets led 38-37 at the break on 44.8 percent shooting.
