CAMELLIA BOWL -- Georgia's Southern's multi-dimensional rushing attack has been a force all season, while Eastern Michigan's 17 rushing touchdowns allowed is third in the MAC. Something has got to give. Georgia Southern QB Shai Werts and running back Wesley Fields will be too much for Eastern Michigan to hold back for a full four quarters, and the bend-but-not break defense will break late.

CAMELLIA BOWL - It's a battle of directional schools that's a stylistic mismatch. Eastern's strength on defense is against the pass, which won't help much against an option team. Georgia Southern is also much better on special teams and in the red zone, which should decide this contest.

CAMELLIA BOWL -- Eastern Michigan lobbied for a bowl bid, so it’s safe to assume this team will be primed. It yielded just one touchdown in the three closing regular season games and will have plenty of practices to gear up for Southern’s triple option. GSU went 2-10 a year ago, and it might consider the bowl as gravy. Under coach Chris Creighton, EMU has gone 2-1 straight-up in bowls the last three Decembers.

CAMELLIA BOWL -- The Eastern Michigan Eagles have the defense to be a problem to any opposing offense. Their issue has been the offensive side of the ball. Despite getting the bonus possessions, the Eagles have had issues paying them off with touchdowns. Georgia State has no issues with its offense. The option attack is deadly. What's even deadlier is an option attack that has the ability to be consistent in the passing game.
