For the third time this season Oregon is featured in a small line matchup against a Pac-12 school. Coming off an outright home victory over Washington, the Ducks have a chance to be the one-loss Pac-12 school to make some noise. Yet parity in the Pac-12 has always been a factor and historically Washington State has given the Ducks fits. Look for Mike Leach to have a proper gameplan to take advantage of the Ducks' speed. Grab the Cougars.
The Cougars averaged 40 points over their last three while allowing 33 to teams that have far less skilled QB's like the one they will face Saturday. Oregon QB Justin Herbert maybe the first QB taken in the 2019 NFL draft. Oregon has gone over in two of its last three. This game will be fast-break basketball on grass. Take the Over.
Mike Leach has Oregon figured out. He's game planned a win against the Ducks the past three seasons, two of them happening at Eugene. The WSU team rating has been steadily rising all season and their true number isn't known yet. They're 6-0 ATS so far. I'm not happy about the start time, but I like the Cougars at home here.
Washington State is going to be amped this weekend with Gameday coming to town, and while that's worth something, I'm not sure it's worth enough to warrant the Cougs being 3-point favorites. This line opened at a pick em most places, and that's probably where the line should have remained. Take a Ducks team that has beaten Washington and should have beaten Stanford getting points on the road.
Fresh off a hard-fought win at home over No. 15 Washington, No. 12 Oregon will prove the doubters wrong with an emphatic win over No. 25 Washington State on the Palouse. Ducks coach Mario Cristobal has transformed Oregon from a finesse team into an old-school, smashmouth force with new-school elements weaved in. The Cougars aren't a threat to run, and wouldn't be able to do it against Oregon's front anyway. Expect the Ducks front seven to tee-off against Cougars quarterback Gardner Minshew, force some mistakes and notch a big Pac-12 North win.
