Sometimes it's hard to resist the new-and-improved team, which is Penn State. The Lions have won with an array of different styles and are coming off an impressive cover against Michigan State to reach the Big 10 title game Saturday. Yet, the Badgers have the formula of play that is suited for handling counters of Penn State for four quarters. Grab the Badgers.
I'm not buying that Wisconsin is three points better than Penn State, but the best angle I see is the total going Over. The game is a dome, and both offenses have shifted into high gear. Penn State has a solid defense and a high-scoring offense, but Wisconsin's elite defense is the main factor in posting a number under 50. But PSU QB Trace McSorely has been amazing during the eight-game win streak (7-0-1 ATS). Wisconsin isn't playing Purdue or Illinois here. Penn State sets the pace offensively and the Badgers play catch up. Over is the top play.
Penn State continues to be underrated. The Nittany Lions have been on fire offensively in all facets. Wisconsin plays extremely well defensively but its offense doesn’t have the firepower needed to keep pace. At some point, the Badgers' defense will be on the field longer than expected, and look for Penn State to capitalize.
