After a series of subpar defensive efforts, Kentucky finally stepped up on Saturday in a 74-67 win over Vanderbilt. The Wildcats held Vanderbilt to 38.2 percent from the field and 24 percent from three-point range. Their inconsistent offense managed to shoot 53.5 percent and they won the rebounding battle. Frank Martin's South Carolina club is sturdy on defense as usual, and the Gamecocks are coming off a 64-57 win at Georgia. Byt they historically have trouble keeping pace with Kentucky, losing the past two matchups by 43 combined points. Look for the Wildcats to continue their series dominance Tuesday.
